Statistics: Russian retail turnover drops 5.2% in 2016
MOSCOW, Jan 25 (PRIME) -- Russia’s retail turnover contracted by 5.2% in comparable prices to 28.137 trillion rubles in 2016, dropped by 5.9% on the year and rose by 18.3% on the month to 2.899 trillion rubles in December, the Federal State Statistics Service said in a statement on Wednesday.
In November, retail turnover fell 4.1% on the year and 0.9% on the month.
Food products, including drinks, accounted for 48.7% of the retail turnover in 2016 and 48.5% in December, while non-food products stood at 51.3% in 2016 and 51.5% in December. The figures remained flat from 2015.
